Kedarkantha is famous winter season trek. It is easy to moderate grade trek situated in Uttarakashi district of Uttarakhand at altitude of 3850 M , comes under Govind Wild Life Sanctuary , offers to see many remote cultural villages, Flora & Fauna & amazing view of snow covered valley in winter. Trek start from Sankri village 1950 M which is base for Har Ki Dun Trek, Bali pass, Burasu pass and other treks.

This trek start from Dehradun passes through beautiful hill station such as Mussoorie, Barkot, Purola, Mori, Netwar, Motwat along the Tons River.

  • Day 01: Dehradun to Sankari (6450 ft.) (210 km – 7- to 8 hours)
    The twisting road follows a winding course going into the Yamuna valley via Mussoorie, and the Kempty falls, finally descending into the Tons river valley, crossing towns such as Sankri, Purola and Mori. Sankri is the last village connected to the motor road. This picturesque village is about 13 Kms inside the Govind Wild Life Sanctuary (Netwair is the place where the check post is located). Sankri is the gateway to the almost untouched Har-ki-dun (3566m) with the Swargarohini Peak(6096m) towering above it in the backdrop. Overnight in tourist rest house/tent.
  • Day 02: Sankari to Juda ka Talab (9000 ft.) (4 km – 4 hours)
    After breakfast trek towards Juda Ka Talab. Cross the village Saur and the road takes a wide curve. Later climb sharply to next to a stream. The trail gets into the pine forest and starts to climb sharply until you reach a ridge ten minutes later. On the ridge the trail evens out and widens for almost the rest of the day.   • Day 03: Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base(11250 ft.) – 4 kms
    The trail out of Juda Ka Talab is clearly visible and straight forward. The trail rises to a ridge at the edge of the lake. At the ridge take a sharp left and dive into the dense pine forest climbing higher. Avoid the trail that goes ahead and down (that is another trail to Sankri used by shepherds).
  • Day 04: Kedarkantha Base (11,250 ft) to Kedarkantha Peak(12500ft) to Hargoan (9000 ft) --7Km
    In the morning view the sunrise from the Kedar Kantha meadows is as startling as the sunset. It is something worth getting out of your sleeping bags early for. It starts early at the meadows, so you need to plan it somewhat. Overnight stay in tent.
  • Day05: Hargoan (9000 ft) to Sankri (6450 ft) -7Km (6-7 Hours)
    The Hargaon camp site is another campsite that stays in your mind for its prettiness. There is plenty of firewood to light a campfire as well as rest day is relaxing and fun walk through the forest and on the well marked path.
  • Day06: Sankri to Dehradun (210 km )
    On arriving Sankri board the vehicle for Dehradun. Advisory :keep Himalayan Regions clean and green, free from all kind of plastic garbage

Trekking, Tour and adventure actives in Himalayan region carry an inherent risk to life and goods. The natural calamities may cause injury and loss of life, which is beyond any control. Himalayas Adventure does its best to minimize all types of risks, discomfort and hazard to the best of their ability, yet there are chances of accidents, mishaps and deficiency in service.


  • Any delay from the customer’s side will lead to cancellation of trek/ tour/ adventure activities.
  • Trekking maybe cancelled due to some unavoidable circumstances i.e- weather condition, govt. notification, land sliding or any other natural calamity.
  • Himalayas Adventure reserves the right to discontinue, modify any trek, tour & adventure activities without assigning any reasons or without any prior intimation whatsoever.
  • Anybody found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs medically or physically unfit (any serious ailment, weak heart conditions, epilepsy, asthma, expecting mothers etc.) unfit for any reasons in the wisdom of the trek leader/guide/instructor will not be allowed for trekking /tour/ adventure activities. Request for a refund or a discount in such situation will not be entertained. Decision of the trek lead/guide/management in this regard would be final.
  • Total decided package cost will not be affected if there is any reduction in the number of persons
  • Minimum required 50% of amount to get confirmed the trek/tour/adventure activities.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 10-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-10 days before the start date of the trip, 75% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However no refund will be provided for the same.

Refund Policy

The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days or can be adjusted in other trek or adventure activities.
