Milam Glacier situated in Kumaun region of Uttarakhand in Pithoragarh district. This trail offers panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishuli and Hardeol & Giant Glacier Milam spread over 30 kms area passes through remote villages & thick forest where trekker can see various kind of flora & fauna, Birds & Wild animals. This route is ancient route for trade with Tibbet which is now closed. During drive from Kathgodam to Munsyari & returning journey glimpse of kumaun & its beautiful villages, Hill stations(Almora, Kousani, Chakori, Munsyari), Rivers (Ramganga), Waterfalls (Birthi & Mahadev), Culture & Agriculture of Kumaoun region. Uttarakhand have two divisions (Garhwal & Kumaoun),since ancient time because of its different cultures & language, Kumaoun consist 6 districts & Garhwal consist 7 districts out of 13 districts

  • Day 01: Kathgodam - Almora - Munsyari (2290 mts/7512 ft) 300 kms/8-9 hrs
    After breakfast proceed to Uttarkashi (1150 mts), which takes 7-8 hrs drive following the course of the Bhagirathi river valley. Upon arrival check in at Hotel. Uttarkashi.
  • Day 02: Munsiyari - Lilam (1850 m/6068 ft) (14 kms/ 5-6 hrs)
    The first leg of your journey towards Milam Glacier starts from Munsiyari. After breakfast, you will begin your trek to Lilam via Darkot. From Darkot, the trek will descend downhill to Gori Ganga until Jimighat. From the riverside, you will trek back to Lilam. Overnight stay at camps in Lilam.
  • Day 03: Lilam – Bugdiar (2500 mts/8200 ft) (12 kms/5-6 hrs)
    Getting up in the morning, you will trek uphill to Bugdiar. After crossing a series of lush green forest, lined with trees, you will reach Bugdiar. Flocks of sheep and goats are a common sight at the meadows of Bugdiar, which will be our campsite for the night stay. Dinner will be served in the tent.
  • Day 04: Bugdiar– Martoli (3430 mts/11250 ft) (14 kms/5-6 hrs)
    Passing through the series of narrow gorges today, you will trek to Martoli via Railkot, which is located at the edge of Lwan Gad Valley. Overnight stay in the tent in village Martoli.
  • Day 05: Martoli – Milam (3450 m/11316 ft) (11kms/5-6 hrs)
    With today's trek, you will reach the most important landmark of the trek, Milam village. On the sixth day, you will firstly cross the bridges over Lwan Gad and Gori Ganga to reach Burphu Village (3350 M). Your next stopover point will be Milam village, which will also be your stopover for camping.
  • Day 06: Milam – Milam Glacier – Milam (6 kms /3-4 hrs)
    Set forth after an early breakfast on a trail to Milam Glacier, from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of magnificent peaks like Rishi Parvat (6692 M), Hardeol (7151 M) and Tirsuli (7074 M). Later trek back to Milam for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 07: Milam - Railkot (3250 M/10725)
    You will trek 12 km downhill even today; highlights of the trail are the narrow gorge of Nahar Devi. Overnight stay in the tent.
  • Day 08: Railkot – Bugdiar
    You will trek 12 km downhill even today; highlights of the trail are the narrow gorge of Nahar Devi. Overnight stay in the tent.
  • Day 09: Bugdiar – Lilam
    Its 12 km of downhill all the way. Reach campsite by the afternoon and chill out. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 10: Lilam – Munsiyari
    Trek to the road head and head back to Munsiyari for a well deserved hot water bath. Overnight in rest house.
  • Day 11 : Masar Tal - Vasuki Tal (12 kms/6-7 hrs)
    The day continues with the ascend of 3 km to reach the ridge, followed by a series of switch backs , finally descending and bringing one to the picturesque lake of Vasukital. Camp by the lake. Overnight in the camp.
  • Day 12: Munsyari – Kathgodam
    The trek for the last day is relaxing and fun walk through the forest and on manmade roads. This day is highlighted by a back drive to Delhi. Following your arrival in Kathgodam; at about 08:40 PM, the adventure of the Milam Glacier trekking comes to an end.

Trekking, Tour and adventure actives in Himalayan region carry an inherent risk to life and goods. The natural calamities may cause injury and loss of life, which is beyond any control. Himalayas Adventure does its best to minimize all types of risks, discomfort and hazard to the best of their ability, yet there are chances of accidents, mishaps and deficiency in service.


Advisory:

  • Any delay from the customer’s side will lead to cancellation of trek/ tour/ adventure activities.
  • Trekking maybe cancelled due to some unavoidable circumstances i.e- weather condition, govt. notification, land sliding or any other natural calamity.
  • Himalayas Adventure reserves the right to discontinue, modify any trek, tour & adventure activities without assigning any reasons or without any prior intimation whatsoever.
  • Anybody found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs medically or physically unfit (any serious ailment, weak heart conditions, epilepsy, asthma, expecting mothers etc.) unfit for any reasons in the wisdom of the trek leader/guide/instructor will not be allowed for trekking /tour/ adventure activities. Request for a refund or a discount in such situation will not be entertained. Decision of the trek lead/guide/management in this regard would be final.
  • Total decided package cost will not be affected if there is any reduction in the number of persons
  • Minimum required 50% of amount to get confirmed the trek/tour/adventure activities.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 10-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-10 days before the start date of the trip, 75% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However no refund will be provided for the same.

Refund Policy

The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days or can be adjusted in other trek or adventure activities.
